Project Engineer Job Description As a Project Engineer, you will manage technology or integration projects, successfully delivering solutions to meet project goals. You may work directly with external equipment vendors, customers, or partners, and must have a solid understanding of design approaches and industry technologies utilized in fulfillment and distribution center designs. Responsibilities Manage technology or integration projects to ensure successful delivery of solutions. Collaborate with external equipment vendors, customers, or partners. Understand and apply design approaches and industry technologies in fulfillment and distribution center designs. Coordinate project activities, including equipment installation and commissioning. Oversee vendor management and project coordination. Handle project budgets ranging from $0.5 million to $50 million. Provide technical leadership for large-scale industrial engineering projects. Design and implement integrated automation solutions, including complex material handling systems, high-speed packaging lines, and manufacturing lines. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products:
Excel, Project, and Outlook. Highly proficient CAD skills with the capability to independently develop an integrated automation layout. Ability to travel up to 75% of the time to installation sites throughout North America. Work Environment This role offers an excellent opportunity to travel to multiple states and build a substantial internal network. You will work with various internal vendors, developing project management skills and experience across multiple disciplines. The work involves frequent travel, with up to 90% of the time spent traveling to installation sites throughout the United States. Typically, travel involves flying out Monday morning, staying at the site all week, and returning home Friday afternoon. It is rare, but some may choose to stay over the weekend.
