Job Description
Design Engineer
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role is responsible for maintaining current product designs, developing new products, and supporting a variety of engineering and manufacturing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
To be successful in this role, the Design Engineer must be able to effectively perform the following duties:
Design sanitary vacuum trucks of various types and sizes
Support production teams during the manufacturing process
Create and maintain standard work documentation
Apply lean manufacturing principles in product and process design
Prepare technical drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, production, and customers
Provide technical support for production operations
Participate in the Product Development Process (PDP)
Research and integrate new technologies into existing and future products
Provide service and customer support when needed
Work safely and follow all required PPE and safety protocols
Take ownership of projects beyond immediate responsibilities as needed
Support other departments and initiatives as directed
Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated with strong attention to detail
Flexible and eager to learn new skills
Effective problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
Physical Requirements & Work Environment:
Typical office environment with extended computer useOccasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Occasional climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching
Occasional travel, including overnight stays, to other company or vendor facilities
Comfortable working in shop environments and collaborating with production staff
Vision requirements include close, peripheral, color, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
