As the Manufacturing Excellence Engineer, your primary responsibility is the improvement and optimization of processes in manufacturing, achieving cost reduction, productivity increases, and overall profitability for the business. You will have an initial focus on one facility and will expand to multiple facilities within the silica business.
You will be onsite in Lake Charles, LA and report to the Manufacturing Excellence Manager. PPG/Qemetica offers excellent Medical, Dental, & Vision Benefits; matching 401k + retirement savings; and Paid Vacation, Holiday pay.

Responsibilities:

Lead engineering problem solving and process improvement projects that involve various teams within theanization including maintenance, operations, supply chain, procurement, EHS, and finance.
Develop and implement project scopes ranging from small operational improvements to large capital investments.
Work with production and process engineers with new technology projects and new product scale up andmissioning.
Collaborate with finance andmercial teams for economic and sustainability initiatives.
Provide coaching to operational team members on different methods and tools to analyze data, identify issues, and guide process improvements.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (Chemical preferred)
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing industry
Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification (Black Belt preferred)
Project management experience (preferred) Skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment
Strong time management skills and flexibility for travel
