Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on our fabricationprocesses, including, but not limited to, CAM/Plasma CNC table, forming,welding, and grinding. The foundation of this role will be developing,implementing, and maintaining optimal, cost-effective processes anddocumentation, as well as process improvement, process documentation,quality initiatives, and technology acquisition.

ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods,utilizing knowledge of product design, materials and parts, fabricationprocesses, tooling and production equipment capabilities, assemblymethods, and quality control standards
  • Lead process improvement andcost reduction initiatives
  • Evaluate equipment and tools for efficiencyimprovements, monitor OEE
  • Design and implement new tooling
  • Work withvendors to determine tool/technology specifications and arrange for thepurchase of equipment, materials, or parts and evaluate productsaccording to specifications and quality standards
  • Estimate productiontimes, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide informationfor management decisions
  • Assist in quality improvement by documentingproblems, determining root causes, and implementing preventativemeasures
  • Create and update Standard Work Instructions (SWIs) fordocumentation of assembly and repair procedures
  • Carry out processimprovement, problem resolution, and project management in an effectiveand timely manner
  • Create and conduct process training for new andcurrent employees
ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Assist with SolidWorksModels/drawings and Bill of Materials
  • Understand and comply withsafety and environmental policies
  • Maintain confidentiality and observedata protection and associated guidelines where appropriate
  • Adhere tocompany policies
  • Other duties as assigned
INTERACTION WITH
  • Mostdepartments, including but not limited to, Design Engineering,Production, Facilities and Quality
  • Equipment vendors
EXPERIENCE
  • Strong CNC Plasma, welding, metal forming, and assembly experience
  • Capital equipment selection and justification
  • Visual Management, Dayby Hour charts, kaizen, setting up Kanban replenishment and Cell/ValueStream layout
  • Overhead cranes and forklifts
  • Work as a team withEngineering, Operations, Sales & Marketing and Finance
  • SolidWorks andCAD software skills and experience a plus
  • Critical thinking andproblem-solving skills
  • Fixture, work holding, tool, and gauge designand manufacture
  • DFMEA experience.
  • Two (2) years of ManufacturingEngineering required
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience preferred
EDUCATION
  • College education or Trade school required
  • Degree inManufacturing Engineering, Industrial Technology or IndustrialEngineering preferred
