Job Description

Project Coordinator (Manufacturing / Engineering) – Temporary 3.5 3.5 out of 5 stars Ayer, MA 01432 • Hybrid work The Project Coordinator supports the program management of complex naval hardware manufacturing projects at AMSC’s Ayer and Westminster, Massachusetts facilities. With limited supervision, the Project Coordinator will assist in organizing, tracking, and reporting on all phases of assigned projects. This role will help ensure that project deliverables are executed on schedule, within scope, and in alignment with customer and internal requirements. This is a full-time temporary position for an open-ended duration , with the potential to transition to a permanent role based on business needs and individual performance.

Functions:

Manage the registration, tracking, and filing of all project documentation—both internal and external—ensuring data accuracy and proper version control. Support the development and submission of technical documents, data packages, and formal customer communications in collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams. Maintain accurate and well-organized project data folders in electronic and physical formats. Prepare, format, and distribute technical and schedule-based progress reports with guidance from technical leads and program management. Coordinate project schedules, internal and external reviews (e.g., Design Reviews, Test Plans, DFMEA, Management Reviews), and associated action items. Record, assign, and monitor status of action items raised during project meetings, and ensure timely resolution and follow-up. Assist in the creation and control of change management documentation in coordination with the business Engineering Change Order (ECO) process. Participate in periodic internal project reviews and contribute to status updates for management and customers. Work closely with business development and program teams to track deliverables, contractual milestones, and risk mitigation actions. Support the smooth flow of project communication between customers, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams. Education –

Experience:

High School Diploma with 2-5 years of technical project coordination/administration experience OR BS degree in a technical or business-related field with relevant internship or project experience Experience using MS Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Project) required

Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to collaborate across technical and operational functions (engineering, production, quality, business development) Proactive and self-motivated; capable of working independently with minimal supervision Familiarity with engineering or manufacturing documentation preferred Strong task tracking and time management abilities Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Passport; domestic travel may be required (up to 10%) U.S. citizenship required A valid driver’s license is required
