Manufacturing Engineer Job Description This position requires 1-3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing and involves focusing on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction in the assembly process. The role includes working with other engineers to manage project schedules, maintain and troubleshoot equipment, minimize accidents, and improve efficiency through ergonomic solutions. The successful candidate will work with electronic, air, and battery tools, and assist in visualizing and specifying tooling, fixtures, and layouts using AutoCAD or Inventor. Responsibilities Provide engineering support for the production shop to help meet KPI targets for safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Provide tooling, jigs, equipment, or resources to production to ensure the vehicle is built to design specifications. Work cross-functionally to determine root causes and implement corrective measures. Lead projects for new parts, tooling, poka-yoke, or equipment installation. Lead Kaizen activities to improve process capability or workability. Coordinate and lead cross-shop investigations and develop corrective measures for design-related safety and quality issues. Investigate and understand current conditions to make decisions on appropriate corrective measures for complex production issues. Essential Skills BS in an engineering discipline, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial. 2-5 years of PLC programming experience using ToyoPuc or similar platforms. Kawasaki robot programming and recovery experience. Equipment reliability analysis and management systems experience. Strong communication and problem-solving skills. Experience with AutoCAD or similar software, and ability to read vehicle and equipment blueprints/drawings. Additional Skills & Qualifications Automotive assembly experience is a plus. Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma knowledge. Experience in process improvement and continuous improvement. Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio). Experience with manufacturing processes and engineering.
