This position reports to
Engineeing Manager
Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to optimize the Production organization’s assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours in accordance with business strategies related to quality, efficiency, costs, and safety. Each day, you will ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components in support of production targets. You will also showcase your expertise by defining the working phase sequence of a new production process to achieve the targeted product cost and equipment investment budget.

This role is contributing to the Motion NEMA Motors division in Columbus, MS area.
You will be mainly accountable to:
- Plan and implement engineering projects including equipment, tooling, and process improvements.
- Generate project approval justification through Capital Asset Project Requests (CAPR).
- Manage Capital Projects including procurement, installation, programming, training, documentation, support to production, and provide status reports as required.
- Identify project staffing, assign and oversee specific phases or aspects such as technical studies, design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
- Review project design for compliance with engineering principles, safety requirements, company standards, and other related specifications.
- Analyze, plan, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.

Qualifications for the role
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 3 years experience is required.
Manufacturing process review/development.
Strong understanding of lean process improvements.
Experienced with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC and computer controls.
Experienced with CAD Software; SolidWorks experience is a plus.
Travel required up to 5-10%
Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
