Manufacturing Engineer Job Description We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to lead with a ‘Safety First’ mindset and drive improvements. This role involves developing and executing annual plans while supporting production and maintenance departments to solve system and process problems, implement countermeasures, and standardize operations. Responsibilities Lead projects and teams using tools such as project milestone management, gate KPI report outs, and problem tracking. Analyze process KPIs and facilitate kaizen activities. Lead technical problem-solving related to process equipment and new technology integration. Support production and maintenance departments in solving system/process problems. Provide technical resources for production, maintenance, and quality operations. Coordinate process audits to ensure Quality Management System compliance. Manage supplier/contractor activities, including job scope and safety schedules. Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments for process and engineering changes. Develop technical instructions to ensure quality requirements are met. Essential Skills Manufacturing engineering experience in the automotive industry. Strong skills in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement. Problem-solving and troubleshooting capabilities. Knowledge of six sigma and welding processes. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Engineering or 5+ years of equivalent experience. Experience in a manufacturing environment and plant-level operations. Expertise in technical specifications and implementation of equipment/process changes. Robot automation and system integration experience, including PLC communication. Project scheduling and KPI management skills related to Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost. Experience in cross-shop projects or problem-solving teams using TPS tools. Willingness to work weekends and holiday shutdowns. Direct experience in body weld roles and budget management. Robot and Vision System programming skills. Experience with Catia and/or Carrot3. Knowledge of Equipment Kanban process and machine risk assessment. Work Environment This position offers a dynamic and engaging work environment.
