Job Description

Bradley Professional is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for their client located in Lexington, NC> The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for leading and implementing product performance, cost, and quality improvements to Transfer Switches and Power Control Systems in accordance with established procedures and standard industry practices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Serve as liaison between Design Engineering and Manufacturing to ensure product quality and integrity meet performance requirements. Coordinate problem prevention and resolution, product improvement, cost reduction, and quality enhancement initiatives. Troubleshoot electro-mechanical issues during production processes. Assist with training and evaluating hourly employees to ensure knowledge transfer and adherence to performance and customer technical requirements. Develop work cell and line layouts to streamline material flow and provide ergonomic work areas. Identify and implement product and process cost reductions and improvements. Investigate, select, and integrate new equipment and processes to enhance product/process efficiency.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Document and maintain Work Instructions and Manufacturing Procedures in an ISO-compliant environment. Lead lean manufacturing improvements, define standard work, balance lines based on TAKT times, and support Kaizen events. Initiate and lead 6S projects, kanban sizing, and TPM events. Resolve engineering investigations and manage equipment selection and capital investment justifications. Process Engineering Change Orders to document or implement product improvements. Maintain product routings in MRP systems. Design and implement tools and fixtures to improve product/process performance. Review and correct product bills of material and engineering drawings. Gain detailed knowledge of product lines and processing/manufacturing techniques. Follow all product development and documentation procedures. Support Pilot Run projects and new product introductions. Contribute to torque control programs and assist in product line transfers between facilities. Promote and ensure a safe work environment. Perform additional duties as assigned.

INTERACTIONS

Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners/suppliers. Collaborate with Design Engineering, Quality Assurance, Test, Manufacturing, and Applications Engineering teams to resolve product issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Strong sense of urgency and effective communication skills across all organizational levels. Strong problem-solving, analytical, teamwork, and team-building abilities. Experience with AutoCAD and/or ProE is a plus. High energy, hands-on approach with ability to multitask and work independently.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (BSME, BSEE, BSIE). Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a Manufacturing Engineer or equivalent. Hands-on experience with lean manufacturing is preferred. Familiarity with ISO standards, auditing, inspection techniques, and ISO9001 certification is a plus.

COMPETENCIES

Strong attention to detail. Effective communication and presentation skills at all organizational levels. Working knowledge of business fundamentals.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with MRP systems (JDE preferred).
