Job Description We are seeking a skilled Project Engineer to own and optimize the manufacturing process. This role involves engineering processes to manufacture products designed by the Product Engineering group, ensuring they meet all specifications while being robust, repeatable, and capable. Responsibilities Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods and standards. Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow. Design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Collaborate with Product Engineering concerning design for manufacturing and assembly. Specify and purchase equipment for product assembly. Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to aid management decisions. Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. Perform other duties as assigned. Essential Skills Experience with Microsoft Office and 3D solid modeling software (SolidWorks). Proficiency with MRP and Process Monitoring software. Experience with assembly equipment and automation. Ability to effectively present information to management, engineers, vendors, assembly line supervisors, and workers. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals. Additional Skills & Qualifications BS Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical or Industrial Engineering or Engineering Technology. 5+ years related experience desired. Automation/Robotic experience desired. Lean Manufacturing experience is a plus. Work Environment This position operates in an office setting, development lab/shop area, and on the manufacturing floor. The work environment involves exposure to dust, oil, electrical/pneumatic/hydraulic devices, and mechanically moving parts. Safety glasses and safety shoes are required while on the manufacturing floor, and certain areas require hearing protection. The role is onsite 5 days a week from 8 AM to 5 PM, with a one-hour lunch break and flexible start and end times.
