Description:

Kooks Custom Headers is searching for a high energy Manufacturing Engineer that is ready to make an impact! Summary This role will support and improve Kooks’ manufacturing operations and product offerings, including the development or improvement of equipment, processes, and methods. This role must be a critical thinker and active listener with good time management skills to effectively define deliverables, goods and services ready for customer delivery.

Requirements:

Essential Functions Develop new processes to support manufacturing continuous improvement initiatives Design improvements to existing tooling to support manufacturing May evaluate products, parts, or processes for cost efficiency and reliability Provide focus and direction to the production team Develop proper manufacturing, testing, and quality control standards Conduct in process checks on the production line to ensure standard work is followed and work-in-process, finished products, and packing meet quality requirements Conduct final inspection of finished products and record test data Develop and improve monthly reports to quantify Production improvement and identify areas requiring attention/improvement Determine the process capabilities and outgoing quality levels of all major products Identify process improvement and optimization opportunities Assist in the development and implementation of training programs, process planning, and policies Lead problem-solving efforts to resolve production problems Maintain and analyze Quality Metrics/Key Performance Indicators to include Quality Performance Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement objectives and action plans Ensure team is implementing effective root cause analysis and assist in their training, as applicable Work closely with team on quality issues Interface with engineering and leadership on new product launch and quality improvement activities Assist with the evaluation and analysis of quality to verify compliance, monitor performance, and mitigate risks Provide monthly reports regarding quality and delivery status, including plans and goals Apply statistical knowledge for quality improvement plans, both internally and externally Contribute to team effort by maintaining a positive outlook Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety requirements Other duties assigned to ensure customer needs are met Skillset Experience working in a dynamic environment, developing flexible solutions to meet evolving business needs Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations Well-versed in relevant software including CAD/CAM, SolidWorks, Microsoft Office Experience in interpretation of blueprints/specifications, metrology, and manufacturing process planning/evaluation Strong organizational and project management skills Ability to demonstrate the application of engineering concepts (through work experience, internships, or education, especially in design engineering) Ability to solve problems creatively and utilize engineering concepts for continuous improvement Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Strong oral and written communication skills Ability to work independently with limited supervision; the successful candidate for this role will be proactive, resourceful and a self-starter Knowledge and understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles, techniques, and philosophies Six Sigma training is preferred Education 2+ years in a manufacturing, production or process engineering environment Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Automotive related from an accredited university or college preferred but not required Physical demands May require lifting, pulling, and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds Frequent bending, climbing, pulling, pushing, and reaching overhead Standing up to eight (8) hours per day, sitting up to eight (8) hours per day, or a combination of sitting and standing Travel Up to 10% travel may be required Disclaimers Kooks Custom Headers reserves the right to revise, change or modify the duties and responsibilities of this position at any time to meet business needs, with or without notice.
