Job Description Summary Senior Engineer leading the planning, procurement, and implementation and multiple technical processes and equipment in the development and production of Natrium High Assay Low Enriched (HALEU) metallic nuclear fuel for GE Hitachi (GEH) Nuclear Energy business. Senior member of the technical team responsible for HALEU fuel manufacturing capability development, implementation, and operation. The team will design the equipment, develop the processes and implement the manufacturing plan for the production of metallic fuel to be used in the Natrium Sodium Fast Reactor.

Job Description Essential Responsibilities:

Senior process engineer responsible for Natrium manufacturing processes planning, procurement, and implementation. Planning Coordinate with area technical leads to develop and maintain project planning to meet overall project implementation deliverables and milestones. Track and report schedule performance to leads and management Procurement Primary interface between project leads and the procurement organization Track procurements to ensure compliance and timely execution Communicate with vendors to resolve technical questions Coordinate receipts and cost tracking in accordance with project requirements Perform equipment cost rollups and tagging Implementation Coordination of multiple projects for site installation, testing, and qualification Coordination of support resources for implementation Ensure overall planning supports integration and production capability as scheduled Identify and implement proactive solutions for incremental and step change process improvements related to safety, quality and output through use of Lean and Six Sigma tools.

Required Qualifications:

4 Year Technical Degree in Engineering, Materials, Chemistry or equivalent technical discipline from an accredited university 10 years of experience in technical engineering work scope project management 5 years of experience in nuclear fuel fabrication and/or fuel development, nuclear operations or other regulated industry.

Eligibility Requirements:

The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered. Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time as required.

Desired Characteristics:

Strong mechanical aptitude and process engineering skills Proven project management experience in large-scale nuclear facility and/or equipment projects. Knowledge and experience in nuclear fuel manufacturing safety and regulatory requirements. Experience with government procurements. Experience with manufacturing equipment design, specification, requisitioning, testing and installation, including management of capital and expense projects. Experience with NRC Regulations, Process Safety Management (PSM), Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) or Integrated Safety Analysis (ISA). Proficiency with PC and productivity software [examples include MS Word, MS Excel, MS Powerpoint] Strong interpersonal and technical leadership skills. Demonstrated strong project management skills and success working with cross-functional teams. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma Certification The base pay range for this position is $120,000-180,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 6/25/2025. The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
