Job Description Summary The Lead Manufacturing Engineer is responsible creating robust processes, equipment acquisition, and supporting production cell daily needs. Additional responsibilities include tracking cell manufacturing data to help drive improvements. In this role, you will work on strategic initiatives to develop and meet long term objectives. The individual is also expected to serve as a coach for new team members and may also be a utilized as a subject matter expert. This role requires understanding of manufacturing processes and strong problem-solving abilities. Job Description Roles and Responsibilities Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment. Includes Manufacturing Engineers. Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute policy/strategy. Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market Uses judgment to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Lead projects, managing risks and resource needs. Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years manufacturing experience) + minimum of 3 years manufacturing engineering experience Desired Characteristics Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering Prior experience with machining (milling, turning, EDM, grinding, etc.) of high temperature alloys.
