Engineering Technician – CNC (Overtime Eligible)

New Brighton PA New Product Introduction Facility Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Engineering Technician – CNC Department to support the development, optimization, and quality assurance of CNC programming and machining operations. This role is crucial in ensuring reliable, high-quality CNC processes across 3, 4, and 5-axis platforms, supporting both product development and production scale-up. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical skills, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to continuous improvement in precision manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
CNC Programming and Optimization:
Develop, test, and optimize CNC programs for 3, 4, and 5-axis machines across multiple platforms, ensuring consistent, repeatable results.
Production Readiness & Protocol Development:
Create and implement robust protocols to ensure process reproducibility at the main production facility.
Setup Documentation:
Document critical setup instructions, including tooling data, part inspection procedures, and photographic capture of key setup features to improve future setup efficiency.
Inspection Planning:
Develop comprehensive inspection plans for new products to ensure quality and adherence to specifications.
Gatekeeping & Quality Checks:
Conduct pre-production signoff inspections to prevent suboptimal jobs from advancing to full-scale production. Act as a gatekeeper to maintain process integrity.
Machine Alignment & Verification:
Perform CNC machine alignment, calibration, and verification as needed to maintain precision and performance.
Qualifications:
Associate degree or equivalent technical certification in Manufacturing Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in CNC programming and machining (including 5-axis). Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, Siemens NX, etc.). Solid understanding of G-code, tooling, and fixture setup. Familiarity with precision measurement and inspection tools. Strong documentation skills and attention to detail. Ability to interpret engineering drawings and GD&T. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a regulated manufacturing environment (e.g., aerospace, medical devices). Experience with process validation and quality control systems. Working knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and work around CNC machinery for extended periods. Manual dexterity for handling tools and components. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.

Full-time Pay:
$64,000.00 – $74,000.00 per year
