Manufacturing EngineerJob Description This position offers the opportunity to utilize project management and technical skills to drive continuous improvement and support the production floor. You will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, requiring strong communication skills. Your support will include technology integration, cost improvements, equipment utilization, quality improvements, new product introduction, and ensuring a safe work environment. The role emphasizes enhancements to the value stream to increase throughput and improve efficiencies through effective layout that maximizes flow and reduces handling. You should have demonstrated experience working with lean initiatives, root cause analysis, preventive action planning, and Poka Yoke. Responsibilities + Drive continuous improvement initiatives to support the production floor. + Integrate technology and improve costs for better equipment utilization. + Enhance quality improvements and support new product introductions. + Ensure a safe work environment through effective planning and execution. + Maximize flow and reduce handling through effective layout enhancements. + Demonstrate expertise in lean initiatives and root cause analysis. + Plan preventive actions and implement Poka Yoke strategies. Essential Skills + Expertise in Manufacturing Engineering. + Proficiency in PLC Programming and CAD. + Familiarity with fabrication processes such as laser cutting, brake press, welding, and powder coating. + Ability to design processes and fixtures, coordinating from concept to production. + Experience in project management and process improvement. + Continuous improvement and Six Sigma knowledge. + Machining skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering/Operations with two years of experience, or over five years of Manufacturing/Process engineering experience. + Desired fabrication experience. + Knowledge of quality systems, including PPAP, FMEA, APQP, SPC, and Control plans. + Industrial experience with metal fabrication, welding, machining, and heavy equipment manufacturing preferred. Work Environment The Manufacturing Engineer will spend equal time on the floor with the production and quality teams, with a typical split of 50/50, which could routinely shift to 60/40 or 70/30. The dress code includes khaki/polo or jeans/polo attire. The team size consists of 4-5 members. The start time is between 6:30 AM and 7:00 AM, with the end time undefined, as the normal day typically exceeds 8 hours.
