Able to travel up to 12 weeks/year Job Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for developing, defining, reviewing, and analyzing production processes. Responsible for identifying process and work flow improvements that will streamline processes and make them more efficient. Responsible for generating and updating plant control plans and PFMEA’s. Responsible for the development and introduction of new products into production and ensuring their manufacturability. Responsible for Green jobs, accuracy of work instructions and product flow, as well as technical troubleshooting of new and modified products. Responsible for working with Production to ensure the most efficient methods are used to build products and ensuring adequate tools are available when new products are launched. Responsible for identifying and evaluating product cost savings options. Responsible for identifying new equipment and technologies to improve processes. Develop and maintain efficient manufacturing processes and procedures.
Lead Product & Process Planning team in the planning of new or revised products and processes launch.
Manage and support the implementation of new equipment and technology to enhance manufacturing efficiency.
Collaborate with quality, production and sales engineering to ensure that products meet quality and safety standards.
Provide technical support and troubleshoot manufacturing issues.
Evaluate and make recommendations for cost savings and process improvements to increase efficiency, throughput and yield.
Mentor and train production operators on new processes or equipment.
Apply customers concepts or blueprints to manufacturing methods or to determine manufacturing feasibility.
Create control plans and PFEMAs.
In conjunction with Production, assess operational requirements, plan and organize work flow patterns.
Create development jobs to prove product manufacturability
Oversee first production run ensuring productivity and quality targets are met.
Review methods of manufacturing, BOMs and routings to ensure that they accurately reflect the process followed on the floor.
Perform time studies to validate Epicor methods of manufacturing
Create internal drawings.
Other ad hoc duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to apply basic principles, theories, and concepts within the mechanical engineering field and general knowledge of other related disciplines
Demonstrable natural curiosity and critical thinking
Ability to design and apply lean manufacturing concepts
Ability to understand and explain processes, schematics, blueprints and/or technical manuals.
Demonstrated skill in solving highly technical problems
Knowledge of metal/machine shop processes
Advanced knowledge of production machinery and processes
Proficient in using computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant tools
Ability to read and interpret drawings
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong accuracy with attention to detail Education and Experience Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineer or related field.
