Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Design Engineer with expertise in mechanical, mechatronics, automation, or industrial engineering to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the technical expert for sustaining products as well as new product development and custom electro-mechanical designs. You will collaborate directly with customers and work closely with our internal sales, manufacturing, and operations teams to drive innovation and technical solutions. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development of cutting-edge technologies in the automation and industrial sectors. Responsibilities Serve as the technical expert for sustaining existing products and developing new products. Lead technical discussions with customers regarding new and existing applications. Collaborate with internal teams (sales, manufacturing, operations) to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements. Design and develop custom electro-mechanical solutions that integrate automation and mechanical systems. Support product development from concept through to production. Essential Skills Proficiency in mechatronics, mechanical design, automation, and industrial design. Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and product development processes. 8-10 years of experience in the industrial automation industry, electro-mechanical actuators, linear motion products, or high precision automation products. Familiarity with linear guides, crossed roller bearings, ball screws, leadscrews, stepper and servo motors, encoders, and related technologies. Experience in manufacturing and design engineering. Strong skills in 3D modeling and the ability to take concepts through to production. Basic electrical engineering knowledge, including wiring sensors, connecting power supplies, and designing systems. Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and customers. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (BSME) or a related discipline. Proficiency in Python and VBA. Familiarity with military, environmental, and test specifications. Work Environment You will be working in a collaborative environment that encourages innovation and technical excellence.
