Our client is currently seeking a Sr Manufacturing Engineer Job Summary The Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Machining will be responsible for providing production floor support and driving process improvements for machining complex, tight-tolerance components using CNC lathes, mills, and grinding equipment . The role also includes equipment procurement, capacity planning , and business quoting to support new programs. This position requires independent judgment, evaluation, and adaptation of standard techniques to develop innovative solutions for engineering challenges. Key Responsibilities Serve as the process owner for a designated department, ensuring a stable, sustainable, and efficient operation in areas such as machinery, quality, tooling, and documentation . Lead new product launch teams , designing manufacturing plans that include operator workflows, machine capability, and quality checks . Oversee capacity planning and capital forecasting for department growth and new equipment needs. Identify required parts, tools, and gaging to meet product specifications. Evaluate machine builders for potential procurement based on site visits, capability assessments, and financial factors . Manage procurement and qualification of new machining, assembly, and test equipment . Lead machine installation , including layout development, robotic integration, and full-scale production handoff . Provide ongoing support for production equipment, addressing efficiency, capability, and continuous improvement opportunities. Troubleshoot machine downtime issues across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, coolant, and tooling systems . Address quality-related downtime through structured problem-solving methodologies such as 8D and Six Sigma . Collaborate with incoming material suppliers to resolve quality concerns. Design and implement manufacturing process improvements to maximize efficiency and reduce costs. Justify funding for cost reduction projects through detailed AR narratives . Provide feedback to product development teams on manufacturability, cost optimization, and future product designs . Train and support manufacturing associates , including team leads and operators . Maintain critical process documentation , including control plans, FMEAs, FPPA, tool sheets, and job instructions . Support manufacturing operations across all shifts , including weekends when necessary. Perform conventional engineering practices , solving complex coordination challenges and material suitability concerns . Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Industrial Systems Engineering, or a related field . 5-10 years of experience in manufacturing engineering.
