Project Engineer/Launch Engineer/Process Engineer/Manufacturing Engineer Job Description The Program Engineer is responsible for managing and executing all phases of product launch projects, from planning through production. This role includes leading Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities, coordinating cross-functional teams, maintaining project timelines, and ensuring deliverables meet customer and company expectations for quality, budget, and timing. Responsibilities Manage project planning and timing milestones, coordinating resources and activities to support various forms of product launches. Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities for assigned projects, ensuring synchronization of internal and customer timelines. Prepare, maintain, and track project plans that meet milestone, budget, and quality requirements. Communicate project status, issues, timelines, and action items to management and stakeholders regularly. Support customer needs through pilot builds, testing, run-at-rate events, and internal process sign-offs. Present project status at defined milestone reviews, including actionable solutions to keep projects on track. Monitor the product lifecycle to ensure long-term customer satisfaction. Essential Skills Project management expertise. Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process proficiency. Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T). Experience in automotive engineering and product launch from cradle to grave. Ability to develop quotes and serve as the point of contact for customers. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in stamping and equipment installation. Knowledge of machine studies, automotive stamping, design, manufacturing processes, and machine installation. Work Environment This role involves 60% desk work, collaborating with launch coordinators who spend most of their time on the floor setting parts and checking quality.
