Job Description:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serves as the client’s primary point of contact into Nordson MEDICAL for all project-related matters.
  • Responsible for timely and effective communication to clients about ongoing project matters
  • Writes and reviews customer proposals, assists in business development activities and client relationship management.
  • Prepares project plans that specify project phases, tasks, task interdependencies, durations, resource assignments, and costs.
  • Sets project budgets, tracks cost to budget and manages budget for on-cost delivery. Reviews and approves invoices and assesses Nordson MEDICAL financial exposure throughout project.
  • Ensures project targets are consistently monitored and communicated to ensure project success
  • Manages multiple concurrent projects of varying size, scope, and complexity.
  • Responsible for leading cross-functional teams to support projects from Research & Development and into New Product Introduction
  • Responsible for the technical engineering support for New Products at the Chattanooga site.
  • Vital team member in driving the ultimate results of project team performance meeting customer expectations.
  • Responsible for driving team to deliver projects on time, on budget, in scope, and compliant to all known internal or external requirements.
  • Coordinates activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure the delivery of supplies or services needed to meet scheduled timelines.
  • Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development, including management of scope / scope changes and adherence to quality system documentation requirements.
  • Makes final decisions on administrative or operational matters as it pertains to projects or escalates as appropriate.
  • Uses PM best practices tools (e.g., Timelines, Project schedules, RAID documents, meeting minutes, 4-panels, etc.) to facilitate information flow between team members, the project leader, management, and the client.
  • Support efforts to analyze current project operations, makes recommendations for improvement and supports implementation of changes.
  • Interacts internally and externally with senior management.
  • Facilitates Design and Phase Reviews to report on status to client companies and/or internal management.
  • Participates in continuous improvement for projects or systems.
  • All other duties as assigned
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred, Degree focus in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering is desired.
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-college experience is required in medical device or other regulated industry.
  • Experience in technical leadership and/or management of projects required.
  • Familiarity with FDA QSR and
ISO 13485

medical device regulations

  • Experience with catheters, delivery systems, film cast, or braided shafts desired
  • Knowledge of probability and statistics.
  • Familiarity with one or more clinical areas preferred.
  • Familiarity with one or more product areas preferred.
