Job Description

Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer at Aqua-Chem will be responsible for supporting the production process to ensure optimization of cost, quality and on time delivery of products.

Schedule:

Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

Location:

Onsite; Knoxville, TN

Pay Range:

Dependent on experience

Essential Duties:

Update or emplace manufacturing work instructions plant wide.
Develop standard labor hours and optimization of those hours.
Design to value: improve new and existing manufacturing drawings for ease of manufacturing and reduction in cost without affecting form, fit, and function.
Support purchasing: prepare scope of supply, to include instructions and drawings for suppliers.
Support manufacturing “red lines” – incorporate minor manufacturing design change request(s) without disrupting manufacturing operations.
Support the aftermarket department with tasks such as finding replacements for obsolete parts, etc.
Participate in transformation into data-driven organization.
Report progress, visibility on loading, and KPI’s.
Review of new manufacturing drawings for release
Support Application in cost estimations.
Documents potential risks or shortfalls in future state processes
Aids in the creation, review, and approval of engineering packages to be used for welding, machining, or fabrication.
Manages work to ensure that deliverables are met within schedule and budget.
Participates in the definition of action plans, training of relevant maintenance and production teams, and other support activities during the internal/external process and equipment start-up.
Other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience.

  • 3-5 years of experience in a medium to high volume manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to translate design intent into efficient processes and tooling while creating readable, detailed drawing packages and manufacturing instructions.
  • The ability to safely use basic hand tools; mill or lathe or welding experience is a plus.
Requirements:

Must be a U.S. Citizen
Able to work overtime as required.
