Our client is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer II for their Manufacturing facility located near Loudon TN. This is a Global Industry Leader with a World Class Culture and Processes. Teh Manufacturing Engineer II will apply comprehensive knowledge of materials, mechanical principles, engineering theory and methods to design, integrate and improve manufacturing systems or related processes. May work across other departments to resolve issues, increase productivity, and decrease costs. May work in ancillary manufacturing functions such as BOM, automation, inventory management and special projects for factory expansion as required. Interested Candidates should contact Lee Douglas @ 610 617-1447 or email a current resume to LDouglas@judge.com This job will have the following responsibilities: Assist ME techs and production support staff in achieving departmental goals and objectives. Using comprehensive drafting knowledge, can interpret and apply dimensional relationships and demonstrate a working knowledge of tolerances and how those are applied in a manufacturing process. Review work instructions for clarity and basic comprehension and recommend changes or rewrites if necessary. Assist in the rapid prototyping or procurement of essential shop aides and generate new applications for the technology as required. Provide technical know-how to solve recurring problems related to the design of tooling, jigs, and fixtures. Support the manufacturing team to resolve problems that persist in the production area(s) as required. Investigate recurring quality issues pertaining to assembly using problem solving methods and support other departments. Support established key process indicators such as downtime, efficiency, and cost controls. Demonstrated ability to interpret data and monitor trends and recommend solutions from those observations Identify and implement areas of opportunity and act through self-directed improvement ideas utilizing the proper resources and approval routes. Support activities including 5S, material handling improvements, production line configuration, and safety procedures. Demonstrate the ability to learn manufacturing tools and concepts such as Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen and line balancing for continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering 3-6 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment, marine preferred Ability to interpret and create technical drawings – GD&T fundamental understanding a plus. Direct experience in implementing lean manufacturing principles and ergonomic process design, Value Stream Mapping, etc. Fundamental knowledge in statistical analysis and project management, ability to understand and define critical paths and work to reduce lead times a plus.
