Summary/Purpose
Design, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness. Collaborate with teams to solve process issues and drive continuous improvement. Support product costing, capital planning, quality planning, and Kaizen initiatives. Work on fixture design, gauge and tool ordering, equipment specs, supplier evaluation, and on-time project implementation. Create and modify process documentation, check sheets, and standards as needed.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
Process Design and Optimization:
Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Support the timely manufacture of pre-production and prototype component samples
Data Analysis:
Analyze process data to identify trends, deviations, and opportunities for improvement.
Carry out machine capability studies and countermeasures to meet targeted performance.
Problem Solving:
Troubleshoot process-related issues and implement effective solutions.
Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, maintenance, to achieve process excellence.
Design and make detailed drawings of fixtures, tooling, gauging, etc.
Work overtime and/or Saturdays/Sundays when directed by supervisor, as necessary to complete project preparation.
Perform other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Proficient in CNC programming on Fanuc, Mazak and Brother controls. Proven CAD experience on Auto Cad or Solid Works. Basic understanding of PLC logic controls
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and circuitry. Strong understanding of tool cutting geometry
Strong organizational skills, able to work well under pressure and manage several tasks simultaneously
Must enjoy challenges and meet planned deadlines and project timelines.
Proficiency in CAD software and other engineering tools.
Project management experience.
Knowledge of applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental management systems
The above may be waived by the department Manager and the Human Resources Manager if the candidate is qualified.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science, Engineering, preferably in Mechanical Engineering. 4-6 years of experience in metal removal and/or close tolerance assembly manufacturing.
Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Able to walk approximately 3 – 7 miles per day
Late meetings with Japan or Europe due time zone differences
Perform repetitive motions while walking or standing
Stand/walk for duration of shift
Visually check for minute details when performing quality checks, detect color
Able to lift 35 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
