Full Job Description Job Summary:
Set up and operate the roll mill and/or punch press to perform manufacturing operations and produce parts having close dimensional and quality requirements.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Complete all intermediate/minor setup operations within a pre-determined standard for setup time. Adjust bumper. Set swage. Adjust and set millers and reamers. Set counter bores. Complete all major setup operations within a pre-determined standard. Monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes and take appropriate action. Maintain machine efficiency through oil checks, sanding rolling tools, etc. Inspect materials for acceptability to be free from defects and perform quality checks. Clean and maintain area in an organized manner to maintain safe operations. Operate and as needed to produce efficiently the quantity and quality needed in a safe manner. Perform systematic transactions pertaining to inventory control. Maintain product inventory and stock integrity performing cycle counts as necessary. Move materials and work from station to station to maintain consistent flow for each process. Assist in training new employees. Works as a team member supporting assigned department. Flexibility and willingness to move from assigned role/department to other areas and cross train. General housekeeping and support of 5S lean standards. Follow all safety and environmental regulations. Perform other related duties as assigned or required including that of production operators I through VI.
Education:
High school or general equivalent diploma (GED).
Experience:
Pre-requisite of Production Operator II and III.
Skills/Knowledge:
Requires the ability to read and write English and comprehend oral and written instructions; the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions; the ability to understand simple formulas.
Machines/Tools/Equipment/Work Aids:
Which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position. Punch press, power sheer, forklift, precision-measuring instruments, power tools, hand tools, overhead crane, calipers, plug gauges, rolling tools, height gauge.
Licenses Required:
Forklift Operator.
Physical Requirements:
Physical demands commonly associated with this job require the ability to stand, walk, reach, push, pull, grasp, talk, hear, and see. The employee is required to frequently lift or move materials of varying weights. Must be able to maintain alertness and safety standards while performing this job. Must be able to step up on a platform to make miller adjustments or remove products that have become jammed in the machine.
