Summary Production Technicians are responsible for operating one or more machines to produce products such as thermoforming plastic sheets, lids, containers, and other similar items. Responsibilities

• Operates one or more of the following machines in order to produce product: platen presses, vacuum forming machines, ovens, dies, cutting equipment, trimming equipment, etc.
• Observes operation of the machine to detect malfunctions.
• Notifies appropriate personnel when malfunction occurs.
• Takes corrective action as needed.
• Maintains housekeeping of work area and equipment.
• Reports any unsafe conditions immediately.
• Loads/unloads material, moves switches and controls that operate machines, and cleans out machines at end of shift.
• May train new employees and/or temporary workers.
• May be required to wear protective clothing and safety devices (i.e., ear protection, eye protection, steel-toed boots) as directed by supervisor.
• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic knowledge of math.
• Good communication skills and ability to learn new processes quickly.
• Good computer skills helpful.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good problem solving skills.
• Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Availability to work overtime on short notice.
