Summary Production Technicians are responsible for operating one or more machines to produce products such as thermoforming plastic sheets, lids, containers, and other similar items. Responsibilities
- Operates one or more of the following machines in order to produce product: platen presses, vacuum forming machines, ovens, dies, cutting equipment, trimming equipment, etc.
- Observes operation of the machine to detect malfunctions.
- Notifies appropriate personnel when malfunction occurs.
- Takes corrective action as needed.
- Maintains housekeeping of work area and equipment.
- Reports any unsafe conditions immediately.
- Loads/unloads material, moves switches and controls that operate machines, and cleans out machines at end of shift.
- May train new employees and/or temporary workers.
- May be required to wear protective clothing and safety devices (i.e., ear protection, eye protection, steel-toed boots) as directed by supervisor.
- May be required to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred.
- Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
- Basic knowledge of math.
- Good communication skills and ability to learn new processes quickly.
- Good computer skills helpful.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
- Availability to work overtime on short notice.
