Position Summary The Equipment Operator II is responsible forthe safe and efficient operation of assigned equipment, ensuringcontinued operation through interpretation of and response tomachine faults, line clearance needs, and alignment of stations andfixtures.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Perform start-upoperation from power off/cold state; complete equipment and productpaperwork, such as traceability and start-up checklist. ConductLevel I required preventive maintenance tasks. Participate inchangeovers to include line clearance, system transactions, andassociated documentation. Perform work order set ups in electronicbatch record, data acquisition and inventory management systems.
Pull test samples for QC in process inspection, remove completedproduction from machine and place in finished goods totes. Fillcomponent Hoppers/Bowls as required to maintain production. Performminor troubleshooting to diagnose machine performance issues;escalate to assigned Technician when required to ensure resolution.
Perform line clearance activities and return equipment to properoperation. Update hourly production boards with production andefficiency numbers; note issues that prevented goal attainment(downtime, waste, quality, etc.) Submit machine repair tags toidentify issues requiring support services. Ensure that product notmeeting quality specifications is processed under non-conformanceprocedures/requirements. Maintain 5S standards in assigned workareas. Perform other related duties as assigned or required. Thisposition is required to assure compliance of Company operations toall applicable laws, regulations and standards, good businesspractices and company documented procedures (including knowledge ofall standards, government occupational health and environmentalregulations and statutes related to the site). Engage others;promote and participate in Environmental, Health and Safetyinitiatives, focusing on continuous improvement. Knowledge & SkillsGood Verbal and written communication skills. Read, write,understand and communicate in English. Understanding of and abilityto use computers. Sound judgment for use in machine troubleshootingand product disposition. Good interpersonal skills to facilitatecommunication at various levels and areas within the organization.
Must accurately follow both verbal and written instructions.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience Must be at least 18years of age. High School Diploma, or GED with 1 to 3 years ofmanufacturing experience preferred; or Technical Certificate withassociated relevant experience. Work Environment. Work involves useof manufacturing equipment or close proximity to equipment. May beexposed to biohazards and/or chemicals. Work environment can rangefrom clean room and proper gowning requirements to a productionarea that is open, potentially noisy, and with moving equipment.
Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. and push/pull up to 80 lbs.
Recurring physical demands include standing, walking, stooping,crouching, climbing, bilateral motion involving hands, wrists, andupper body. Concentrated visual attention to perform checks onproducts and components. Typically requires travel less than 5% ofthe time.
