Summary:
You will be responsible for working as part of a team of talented staff within the food and beverage industry with quality standards, GMPs, Safe Quality Food requirements, and FDA guidelines for the safe production of food products. You will have the skills to work successfully with their assigned machinery to keep it running efficiently. You can effectively think on your feet, make quick decisions, and have strong attention to detail to ensure no machinery issues or quality go unnoticed. Responsibilities:
Material Handling- print material requisition sheets and use Navision and inventory to locate and weigh raw materials according to formulas, using metric unit of measure. Manage & coordinate with QA to retest and discard expired raw materials. Batch assists during production. Maintain raw material locations and organization both physically and in Navision and assist in cycle counting. Confirm with R D material requisition sheet for accuracy and version prior to staging and weighing raw ingredients. (1st time run) and pull samples for R D when needed. Perform CIP functions on various batching equipment and perform titrations on cleaning chemicals. Unload liquid sugar and dry sugar. Maintain cleanliness of work areas and complete cleaning checklists Ensure that all work instructions and job aids are followed, and all documentation and quality checks are completed following SQF requirements. Use a continuous improvement mindset to improve processes Ability to troubleshoot process nonconformities, identify root causes and take corrective action. Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe work area and follow chemical handling procedures. Report on any food safety and food quality-related issues to management. Weigh and stage ingredients for scheduled syrup batches Upholds and inspires adoption of company mission and values. Develop and execute training that support our objectives regarding quality and food safety. Other duties may be assigned Level II responsibilities could include, but not limited to: Set-up, operate and monitor syrup production equipment Manage, prioritize, coordinate with production to efficiently execute daily production schedule. Coordinate with R D on first time batches. Use PLC and various batching equipment to batch and process syrups. Understand flow paths and automated sequences between tanks and equipment for transfer, processing and pasteurization of syrups. Monitor sugar levels for syrup production and notify supervisor when there are possible shortages. Lead and participate in various equipment PM s, Sugar hydration, water polisher, and CIP system. Lead and participate in scale and instrument calibrations. Assist in training and instruction for new syrup employees.
Understand and use system software:
Factory Talk Batch, E-procedures, & Navision and how they are all used in conjunction to batching syrup. Assist in troubleshooting system malfunctions and errors. Provide leadership when supervisors and manager are not available. Serve as back up to Syrup Supervisor. Upholds and inspires adoption of company mission and values. Develop and execute training that support our objectives regarding quality and food safety.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED preferred; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals Must be able and willing to learn clean-in-place (CIP) controls, Factory Talk Batch and Navision Ability to stand, reach, walk, stoop, push, pull and lift and carry up to 50lbs Must be able to work in a wet environment with some exposure to cleaning chemicals Comfortable working with volatile and dust producing food ingredients Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills Must be able to work effectively individually and as part of a team Must follow safety standards to ensure a safe working environment for self and coworkers Certified to use forklift, walk behind lift, and electric pallet jack is a plus.
