Volt is immediately hiring Manufacturing Technician in (Ashaway, RI ) As an Manufacturing Technician you will work: Withminimal guidance of the Production Supervisor, the ManufacturingTechnician troubleshoots, repairs and modifies developmental andproduction mechanical, electronic and fiber optic components,parts, equipment and systems. Primary focus is in the areas ofelectronics, telemetry systems, etc. Reads work instructions,engineering drawings, sketches, and test procedures to determineassembly and test methods for electrical, fiber optic andmechanical components. Responsible for performing functionsassociated with rework and quality testing related to theproduction of parts, components, subassemblies, and finalassemblies.
Essential Functions:
Manufactures electrical andoptical assemblies, components, and harnesses using severalfixtures and required tooling as specified through controlledinstructions. Conducts functional and continuity tests ofelectrical and optical assemblies, components, and harnesses usingohmmeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment. Recommendchanges in procedures and specifications to improve performance ofproduction components. Set up standard test apparatus or devisestest equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational,environmental, and life tests to evaluate performance andreliability of prototype or production model per test procedures.
Responsible for following product test procedures, equipmentoperation and safety practices as documented in the company’squality system manual. Works autonomously. Acts as a mentor tolower level peers and provides guidance on tasks. Ability to trainothers on procedures once you achieve Expert or MasterCertification levels. Follow company procedures for correctiveaction. Notify Production supervisor if a quality defect or safetyconcern is identified to obtain guidance and assistance inresolving the problem. Responsible for following procedures forproduct assembly and fabrication, equipment operation, and soundsafety requirements as documented in the company’s quality systemwhile always maintaining operational targets. Promote cordialrelationships and foster collaboration with co-workers, customers,suppliers, industry and professional associations, governmentagencies and the local community to obtain optimal solutions.
Qualifications:
Be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
Requires minimal job knowledge/skills. Requires a High SchoolDiploma or equivalent with 0 to 3 years of prior relatedexperience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Currently or previously
IPC J-STD-001
solder certified. This is a 12 Month full timeContract or Contract to hire opportunity.
Pay Range :
$21.00 -$22.84 per hour. •Pay range offered to a successful candidate willbe based on several factors, including the candidate’s education,work experience, work location, specific job duties,certifications, etc. Qualified candidates should
