Overview

Job Summary:

Works as a member of the Production Team (Sterile and Non-Sterile Compounding) under the direction of a pharmacist and in coordination with the other technicians. Activities include Intravenous admixture preparation both small and large volume parenteral admixtures, Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) using proper aseptic technique, non-sterilepounding, Inventory management and Repackaging of oral medications. Delivers medications as needed. Attends periodic area meetings.

How You’ll Impact Patient Care:

Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
s pharmacists prepare and process medication orders to make sure patients and departments get the right medications on time and are charged correctly.
Works well with others andanizes daily tasks for maximum efficiency.
s keep medicine stock in good condition so that quality drugs and supplies are always available.
Offers pharmacy services in patient care areas.
Takes part in team efforts to improve quality and supports the Pharmacy Department’smitment to Total Quality principles.
Keeps knowledge and skills up to date and helps educate others.
Sets personal goals to support quality improvement and departmental objectives.
Follows hospital standards to create a positive work environment through goodmunication, relationships, and teamwork.
Provides care tailored to different age groups as per Age Specific Care Guidelines.
What You Will Need
High school diploma or GED equivalent required.

PTCB/NHA

technician certification (CPhT) required.
North Carolina Board of Pharmacy registration as a pharmacy technician required within 30 days of hire.
Nice To Have (Not Required)
Successfulpletion of a formal technician training program preferred.
One-year previous pharmacy experience preferred.
Diploma or Associates Degree in Pharmacy Technology preferred. Sterilepounding experience strongly preferred.
