Join our Team (Whitsett, NC) Zink continues to grow and due to our continued success, we are hiring several experienced Chemical Mix Operators and Coating Line Operators. These positions are critical members of our team and we are looking for responsible men and women, who can self manage their work load, collaborate with team members and do the right thing when no one is looking. Our manufacturing schedule is Monday to Thursday, from 6 am to 4:30 pm. If you are offered a job, you will not have to work weekends. You will be off every Friday, Saturday or Sunday. We have FT work, four ten-hour shifts per day. Zink’s address is 6900 Konica Drive, Whitsett, NC 27377. We are located just off Exit 138 on I-40. We are the large, white manufacturing building next door to Red Oak Brewery with Zink on our building. We invite you to physically come to Zink, this week, Monday through Friday, April 28 to May 4th. We will interview for positions and we will be hiring on the spot between the hours of 8 am and 4 pm. Drug tests will be administered during the interview. The Coating Line Operator performs the tasks necessary to inspect and operate the coating equipment during the coating process. Web coating is a process that applies a continuous layer of coating material to a moving web (a flexible substrate). This process involves applying a liquid coating to the web, followed by a drying or curing step to solidify the coating. Web coating is used in various industries to add properties to materials like paper, plastic, and metal. In our case, we coat paper that is converted to our Zero Ink Zink paper used by Cannon, HP, Kodak and Polaroid to name a few. We are the only company in the world that makes this paper. The Chemical Mix operator positions perform a web-based chemical mix coating process using online tools and platforms to manage and optimize the application of chemical coatings on a continuous or web-based substrate. This approach leverages digital technologies for tasks like coating formulation, process control, and data analysis, aiming to improve efficiency, consistency, and safety in coating applications. The operator needs to understand every step in the coating line sequence to be able to troubleshoot as the line is running to prevent unplanned stoppages. This is done in a clean room environment and operators are responsible for keeping the coating line clean to reduce the defects. Major Responsibilities

  • The operator masters the automated sequences and manual actions of the coating equipment.
  • Communicate and coordinate with the team to make sure operators are in position to complete every necessary action during coating.
  • Thoroughly clean production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot process, raw material and basic equipment problems.
  • Use reporting software to document issues, losses, non-conformances, etc.
  • Assist maintenance department with repairs, process modifications, calibrations, etc.
  • Load and unload shipments at dock. Organize warehouse and assist in inventory counts. Physical Requirement The operator must be able to: routinely lift up to 50 lbs, stand for most of a 10 hour shift, ability to work in hot dryers and climb stairs multiple times in a day. Knowledge Requirements/ Skills
  • Experienced chemical or web based coating candidate
  • General understanding of web handling/ coating.
  • Computer skills, Microsoft Word & Excel.
  • Shift between teamwork and independent work to meet safety, quality, and production goals.
  • Good safety record, willingness to hold others to same high standard.
  • Problem solving skills/ Attention to detail.
  • Reliably on-time, ready for work with required dress code and PPE.
  • Mechanical Aptitude.
  • Forklift experience.
