Production Technician 2nd Shift United Protective Technologies 142 Cara CT, Locust, NC 28097 Description A Production Technician at UPT works in a warehouse/industrial environment and uses their hands to wire, de-wire, fixture, de-fixture and handle metal parts. Our Production Technicians also clean/prep small metal parts and larger molds, as well as cross train to operate coating room machines/equipment.

On-site Schedule Full-time 2nd 3pm-11pm Responsibilities Production Technicians work in a warehouse/industrial environment Production Technicians use their hands to wire (fixture), de-wire (de-fixture), inspect, clean, and pack customer parts (metal parts, such as injection molds, gun slides, gears, pinions, knife blades, etc.) After training, Production Technicians will perform job duties independently, with little supervision Production Technicians must keep their work environment clean and safe and must wear appropriate PPE (glasses, gloves and mask when needed) Production Technicians must be able to lift 50lbs. (solo lift) and 50+ lbs. (team lift), stand for long periods of time, move around the production floor to move parts and carts from one station to the next, must have good manual dexterity, a strong attention to detail, a willingness to learn new things, and grow with UPT Production Technicians must also cross train and perform other duties (hand cleaning, wiping/spraying parts with cleaning solution, working in blasting cabinets, loading parts into cleaning tanks, coating room duties, operate equipment and machines, shipping and receiving duties, etc.) as needed and assigned by the Manager Required Qualifications Must be able to lift 50lbs. (solo lift) and 50+ lbs. (team lift) Must be able to bend and move Standing for long periods of time Physically move around the production floor to move parts from one station to the next Must have good manual dexterity, a strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn new things Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen Must wear appropriate PPE as required Desired Qualifications Prior production and/or machine operating experience Experience / Education High school/Diploma or equivalent Prior experience in a production or warehouse environment or equivalent internal experience preferred
