Brief Job DescriptionThe Manufacturing Technician III is a position reporting to aProcess Execution Team (PET) Process Facilitator, which supportsFilling operations. The position entails the execution of setup,changeover, repairs and preventative maintenance for all equipmentused in the production processes in variousControlled/Non-Classified and Classified areas up to a Class 100(Grade A) aseptic environment. It requires the ability to performmechanical and electronic troubleshooting in order to ensureoptimal operation of equipment via OEE. The ManufacturingTechnician III will also provide basic mechanical training toTechnicians and serve as a resource for implementation ofcontinuous improvement projects. Job Responsibilities

  • Set-upequipment and perform required adjustments to ensure each operationis performing per process specifications.
  • Install, inspect, test,adjust, repair and perform line turnarounds, changeovers, andinterventions per established procedures in a timely and efficientmanner.
  • Resolve equipment-related issues utilizing appropriateproblem solving and troubleshooting techniques
  • Responsible forOEE performance of all equipment and systems within the assignedoperating area.
  • Working knowledge of inspection equipment.
  • Label and deliver samples and microbiological sampling plates toappropriate locations.
  • Responsible for assembling, testing,disassembling, and sanitizing various equipment.
  • Labelmicrobiological sampling plates and deliver to specified locationsif applicable.
  • Assist technical staff as required with preventivemaintenance procedures
  • Obtain/maintain sterile gowningqualification for sterile core Mechanic Technician.
  • Understandaseptic behaviours, media fills including line interventions, andhave a basic knowledge of viable and non-viable monitoringequipment.
  • Perform technician tasks as required includingstart-up, equipment operation, batch execution, material handling,cleaning, housekeeping and line clearance activities
  • Follow andmaintain compliance with established procedures and inventorycontrol.
  • Perform cleaning and housekeeping activities forassigned areas as required to maintain a cGMP environment.
  • Perform batch record and GMP documentation entries. Maintainrecords and/or logs as required in performance of jobresponsibilities. This will include mathematical computation whereneeded.
  • Knowledge of product security controls and materialhandling equipment
  • Responsible for outgoing quality level.
  • Befamiliar with job-related safety procedures and hazards includingPPEs, ergonomics, LOTO, human safety, material handling, wastehandling, chemical handling, and spill controls. Report alldiscrepancies to process facilitator.
  • Perform work requirementsin a responsible manner, in accordance with SOPs, cGMPs andestablished safety procedures in accordance with OSHA requirementsand guidelines. Be familiar with “Material Safety Data Sheets” forarea chemicals.
  • Support lean activities and process improvementwork such as performing 5S in the work area, and Single MinuteExchange of Die (SMED) activities in the work area, participatingin problem-solving, and manual tracking of performance data for OEEand process improvement analysis. Lead Level 0 problem-solving onequipment related issues as needed.
  • Act as an OJT trainer on theteam for equipment set-up, operations and for minor adjustments orrepairs.
  • Serve as a project resource to PET to assist in thefollow up and timely implementation of projects and validationactivities.
  • Be flexible and support other work areas, performother similar and related responsibilities as assigned by areamanagement
  • Perform all other assigned duties with minimalsupervision under the direction of the Process Facilitator,Maintenance Facilitator, Engineer, or other activity lead.

MinimumQualifications Must have the ability to effectively understand,read, write, communicate and follow instructions in the Englishlanguage. Ability to lift and handle equipment change parts,tooling, and materials associated with equipment maintenance andrepair Strong verbal and written communication skills Provenability to work effectively in a team environment Strong mechanicaland technical knowledge and aptitude Ability to interpret technicaldocument Preferred Qualifications Minimum three years of experiencein a regulated production environment High school graduate,vocational school graduate or equivalent Associates in engineeringor a related discipline or equivalent mechanical trade schoolgraduate preferred Previous experience with automated equipmentpreferred Training in mechanics, hydraulics, electronics andtesting equipment in electrical and/or mechanical troubleshootingKnowledge of computerized maintenance management system such as SAPExperience with OEE, TPM, LEAN or other Continuous Improvementmethodology Acquire and maintain all required certifications andqualifications for the assigned work area Maintain AsepticProcessing and Gowning certifications as required Candidate shouldpossess the ability to work in and adapt to a changing/demandingenvironment Overtime may be required with minimal notice to ensureoperation of equipment within the PET.
