Line Operator Job Description The Line Operator is responsible for operating an extrusion line to ensure all products are free from cosmetic and physical defects, adhering to manufacturing tolerances. This role demands accountability for product quality, requiring adjustments and documentation of operating conditions to achieve the highest attainable quality of pipe in a safe and efficient manner. Responsibilities Physically operate the extrusion line to maintain product quality. Ensure products are free from cosmetic and physical defects. Adjust and document operating conditions for optimal product quality. Perform quality inspections to ensure manufacturing tolerances are met. Cope with the pressures of extrusion equipment running continuously in a 24-hour period. Essential Skills Machine operation and line operation expertise. Proficiency in quality inspection and plastics extrusion. Ability to operate hand and pneumatic powered strapping tools. Experience with machine learning and microprocessor equipment. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. Physical ability to remain stationary, squat, bend, or stoop as required. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull pipe stalks and coils with reasonable assistance. Competence in operating chains, slings, hooks, and mobile machinery. Ability to climb stairs or ladders and work on elevated platforms. Alertness to mobile machinery on the plant floor.
