CNC Creo Full Job Description Department Mission Statement :
To support the manufacturing of existing Hendrickson suspension components and the development of new Hendrickson suspension components while keeping Hendrickson a profitable company. We will do this by safely keeping our processes capable from a Quality standpoint, reducing, and eliminating costly scrap and rework and by simultaneously developing the manufacturing processes and tools needed to go with product development. We will focus on creating processes that are capable, sustainable, and within takt time. These processes must support the capacity needed by the customer within reasonable financial payback to our company.
Position Purpose :
The role of the Manufacturing Engineer Technician is multifaceted, encompassing the support of production, quality, manufacturing engineering, and maintenance. This involves technical troubleshooting to maintain process flow and problem-solving to identify root causes and implement lasting corrective actions. The technician will also play a crucial role in the introduction of new processes, equipment, and tooling. The technical scope of the role includes, but is not limited to: Hydraulic, pneumatic, and electro-mechanical equipment 480VAC and 24VDC control systems PLC and CNC controls Assembly and paint processing equipment Axle processing equipment Hydraulic press brake equipment and tooling Fanuc robot material handling Traceability & Error proofing methods and software (NGTT & barcode equipment)
Essential Functions :
Maintain process capability and first pass yield and reduce scrap by helping to determine root cause and implementing permanent corrective actions. Assist production and maintenance with technical issues causing downtime, reduction in first pass yield, or unsafe conditions. Continual improvement of process and product quality. Improve methods and reduce costs. (PCR process) Help implement new and existing processes to support new products. Help implement new equipment, tooling, and fixtures while maintaining a safe and ergonomic workspace. Trouble shoot equipment efficiently and effectively (mechanically and electrically). Procedure and documentation updates. Training material updates. Assist in the development and maintenance of plant layouts.
Education and Training :
An associate degree in an Engineering related field or equivalent experience.
Minimum Qualifications :
Three to Five years’ experience in manufacturing facility. Candidate must demonstrate an ability to read and understand mechanical drawings and be able to interpret sketches, verbal instructions, and mathematical data to identify tooling, gauging, and fixturing details. Candidate must demonstrate an ability to read and understand machine electrical and hydraulic schematics. Allen Bradley PLC troubleshooting experience including software and communication experience is required. Process troubleshooting including pneumatics, hydraulics, and 480VAC and 24VDC control systems. Familiar with Siemens and/or Fanuc CNC Controls is desired. 2D drawing and 3D modeling experience preferred. AutoCad, PTC Creo and plant layout experience preferred. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software. Strong communication and project organization abilities. Ability to manage multiple tasks at once. Excellent mechanical aptitude. Formal training in pneumatics, hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting is desired. Hands-on experience in tooling & fixturing methods is preferred. Production experience is preferred and attention to detail is imperative.
Physical Requirements :
Continuous engagement in activities such as standing, walking, reaching, and maintaining balance. Occasional involvement in actions like bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing. Capability to lift and transport items weighing up to 50 lbs. Ability to push or pull objects exerting a force of 20-40 lbs. over a distance of 40 feet. Willingness to travel to other Hendrickson manufacturing facilities as needed. Ability to assemble, troubleshoot, and make necessary adjustments to in-house tooling and fixture designs.
Environmental Conditions :
Work settings include both office environments and shop floor areas. Candidate will be working in and around industrial machinery. May be exposed to the following processes and the environmental conditions inherent with each: welding, machining, forming, metal surface treatment, laser cutting, plasma cutting, and other metal working and assembly processes. All necessary PPE (as defined by OSHA) and training associated with such will be provided.
