We are a small-sized defense contractor providing Engineering, Logistics, Program Management and Technical Services to government clients. We need an engineer or engineering technician to perform the duties of the Auxiliary Systems Engineering Manager position on an Amphibious Warship Design team. This position is for Pascagoula, MS, but is eligible for remote/alternative work locations.
ResponsibilitiesReviews Auxiliary Systems CDRL’s for technical accuracy against ship specifications and sub tier references.
Serves as integrator for the following Auxiliary Systems including the following systems but not limited to; HVAC, CFW, CW, ASW, MSW, Firemain, Ballast/De-ballast, Potable Water, Deck Machinery and Hotel Services.
Supports Ship Design Manager (SDM) on all Auxiliary Tecnical areas.
Review/revise requirements for, and design of, fluid systems, hydraulic systems, steering systems, HVAC systems, refrigeration plants, and other auxiliary equipment.
Review designs of selected auxiliary systems that might include the necessary calculations, studies, and analyses to support the designs.
Provide technical support for engineers working in such areas as research, design, development, testing, or manufacturing for mechanical, electrical, or weapon system components or equipment.
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Marine or Ocean Engineering, and a minimum of 10-years DoD/Navy program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.
Former Navy enlisted personnel and former LDOs with a minimum of 12-years of experience would meet the requirements for these positions.
Must have experience with applicable codes and standards such as ABS NVR, OSHA, and NFPA.3-years experience with ship Damage Control, firefighting and fire prevention systems is preferred.
Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
