Position Summary:

The Plastic Injection Molding QA Technician is responsible for maintaining and updating all Quality Assurance files and specifications and to follow procedures and embrace new technologies.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to apply principles of SPC, read prints and use hand gauging
  • Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude
  • Organizational skills and maintain good attendance
Preferred:
  • 2 year or 4 year degree in a quality related field or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of GD & T
  • Internal Auditor; required for Level 2
  • Certified Quality Technician (CQT) Certification Training (performed on-the-job):
  • Continuous education and training is expected (where practicable)

QA Inspector Checklist Essential Physical Functions:

  • Ability to move from machine to machine or stand in one place for long periods of time.
  • Various repetitive movements and good manual dexterity to perform required tasks.
  • Ability to lift cartons and products of varying weights up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to use hand gauging tools such as but not limited to: calipers, micrometers, height gauge, pin gauges, torque wrench, etc.
  • Ability to stoop, twist, bend, squat and stretch frequently.

  • Travel will be on a limited basis to customer or supplier locations.
Responsibilities:
  • Treat all internal and external contacts with uncompromising respect and integrity under all circumstances.
  • Maintain specification, create sample boards, archive part samples, calibrate inspection equipment and maintain proper documentation processes.
  • Verify measurements, performance/product testing and weights of parts to ensure compliance to set standards.
  • Perform audits on finished products before shipment to ensure quality expectations have been met.
  • Administer SPC program, initial Munsell testing & recertification with suitable records.
  • Complete and send Certificates of Compliance/Authenticity for customers and maintain material certificates, color chips and
  • Responsible for programming of moisture analysis unit in collaboration with the outside representative.
  • Completes requisitions through the MRP system for approval.
  • May assist with the training of new QA personnel and fill in as the QA Inspector in their absence, as needed.
  • Follow company safety procedures to ensure your safety as well as the safety of others.
  • Attend team meetings to promote team building.
  • General housekeeping to keep the work area and plant clean.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QA Tech 2

Specialties:
  • Administer capability studies (Minitab, etc. )
  • Complete melt flow testing.
  • Participate in the
APQP/PPAP

process, maintain and update Control Plans/FMEA’s and associated documents as required.

  • May assist with the completion of ECN’s.
