PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
Performsadvanced engineering problem solving in support of nuclear plantoperations. Responsible for technical decisions. Possesses superiorknowledge in functional discipline and its practical applicationand has excellent knowledge of applicable industry codes andregulations. Functions with recognized industry-level of expertisein a technical area.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Performadvanced engineering and technical tasks in support of nuclearplant operations.
- Perform independent research, reviews, studies,and analyses in support of technical projects.
- Provides in-depthtechnical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineeringactivities related to plant safety, reliability, maintainability,and availability ensuring compliance to customer’s needs,regulatory requirements, and corporate policies.
- Accountable forthe accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring properconfiguration management and assuring that standard designcriteria, practices and codes are used in preparation of plans andspecifications.
- Provide technical expertise and consultationthrough direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment andsystem problems.
- Provides initial or complete task management ofengineering issues.
- Recommends equipment, new concepts, andtechniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reducecosts, correct design, or material flaws, or comply with changes incodes or regulations.
- Supports plant design modifications,testing and problem solving.
- Assure all engineering productsprepared or overseen are in accordance with applicable safetyanalyses, industry codes, and all regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement, and coordinate functional supervisoryactivities including, but not limited to, personnel, budgetaryaccountabilities, and planning goals with respect to engineeringpersonnel.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- B. S. degree in engineering orlicensed Professional Engineer
- 10 years of engineering experienceand exceptional performance
- Approval of VP Engineering requiredto obtain this classification
