Engineer Job Responsibilities:
Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machinery; maintaining quality and safety standards;
keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Plans machining requirements by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters; Interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T). Programs mills and grinders by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and compensation; Requires use of basic math, geometry, and trigonometry. Sets-up mills and grinders by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and sine vices. Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards. Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Maintains continuity among workforce by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs. Documents actions by completing production and quality logs. Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Job Skills & Qualifications:
Technical or Engineering Degree or equivalent knowledge.
5+ years of experience operating CNC machines.
Comfortable using tools and maintaining machinery.
Expertise with computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) software, Mastercam preferred.
Proven history of working with gauges and calipers.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
Values precision and enforces quality standards.
