ABOUT THE POSITION
This position requires a general understanding of welding codes specifications and procedures. Including the ability to teach and train welders in a formal environment. Extensive understanding of GMAW, SMAW, FCAW, SAW, and GTAW is required. Key Deliverables Serve as a program leader Execute improvements as outlined by manager Evaluate emerging technology in the industry Ability to teach welding school Respond to shop question and support manufacturing efforts for cost saving and improvements Key Activities & Responsibilities Learn and stay current on welding codes (AWS) Participate in welder training Provide technical support if needed, for welder performance testing Acting as a technical resource to welders, including mentoring and direction Understand how to develop cost analysis for improvements Able to interpret data, create spreadsheets, and analyze data related to welding process efficiencies and labor improvements Work with production supervisors and personnel to assess current welding/manufacturing issues Evaluate current welder training program and recommend changes and improvement To be successful in this role, your experience and competencies are: 10 years welding related work Experience with AWS codes and specifications The ability to work well with supervisors and shop floor personnel Provide some leadership to trainees and lab support personnel Microsoft Office Skills Organized and detail oriented Highly motivated and self-directed Analytical thinker and problem-solver Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills Ability to create, design, and analyze blueprints and drawings Project Management Supervisor and Leadership Expectations There are no supervisory responsibilities at this time This role does not have budgetary responsibilities This roll does have program/project management responsibilities?
