Direct Report:
Development Support Team Manager We are looking for a reliable Engineer to perform advanced or specialized engineering duties generally focused on new product design, application testing of new technology and improvement of performance deviation. Primarily convert new tire design to meet design target specification and ensure that plant production equipment & specifications. Support R D and plant by interfacing with plant manufacturing, engineering & other internal & external organizations. Ensure product & quality systems integrity. Ensure plant & corporate design manual requirements are being followed. Implement new products & processes & resolve product performance issues. Lead and manage the optimization of the manufacturing process for both legacy and next generation products. You will act as the design and process engineering expert for all the manufacturing site. Initial training will include formal classes and on-the-job mentoring under an experienced engineer. Work with a “Safety Always” mindset through supporting and promoting continuous improvement of safety and health in the workplaceIn order to maintain close and successful communication with related departments, must take a positive and creative attitudeLearn and Contributes and/or supports small projects or processes of complex scope, with limited oversight from managementAssists in the development of operational plan and implements for areas of assigned responsibilitiesSupport to apply and benchmark potential new technologies, products and test method development by developing and validating theories on the physical, chemical and/or mechanical properties of materials and ingredients under various conditionsDocument and enforce technology and quality standards; develop and control quality management systems and technical specificationsMakes recommendations concerning acquisition and use of new technologies and testing equipment to support business needsLearn and evaluate internal and customer audits; publish the results; implement and follow up with corrective actionsWork with internal customers to understand their testing needs and work collaboratively to create new test methodsSystematically identify causes of problems and identify possible solutions in a Plan â Do â Check â Act methodologyCommunicate regularly with the Manufacturing Units and R D to ensure efficient information sharingIn order for the new material and technology of R D to be well applied to the plant, it should act a role of communication between the plant and R DUnderstand the product development process and material specification design to ensure quality, and be able to analyze processing evaluation resultConsider the product plan of plant and solve problems of process ability and quality deviation for new product Present project status and project closures to internal customers and upper managementsMay participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applicationsContribute to cross functional teams in designated area/ process on various improvements and projectsPerforms other duties as assigned
Education:
(Required) Bachelor’s degree, field of science or learning major required(Preferred) Chemical/Material Science Engineering major or advanced degree in a related field
Experience:
(Required) 0+ years of proven engineering experience in the manufacturing industry(Preferred) Relevant experience preferred to include internships or
Co-ops Physical Demands:
Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairsMust be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the timeMust be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machineryMust be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinetsMust be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds
