The Piping Drafter will be responsible for preparing layout anddesign of complex offshore/onshore piping design systems using 2D and 3Dmodeling software.
JobDuties and Responsibilities:
- Assist engineers and designers in resolvingpiping design issues;
- Create drawings for assigned projects frominformation supplied and/or verbal instructions with little or no supervisionrequired;
- Responsible for keeping their directsupervisors updated on any and all concerns relating to their respectiveassignments and discipline;
- Ensure that all drawings adhere to client, and/orcompany Drafting Standards;
- Ensure that all drawings adhere to client,company and/or industry Design Standards;
- Create and/or perform corrections to thefollowing drawings: General Arrangements, P&ID’s, 3D Model, Piping Plans,Piping Sections, Details, and Isometric Spools;
- Create Material List;
- Track progress on own drawings assignments;
- Be available for site and vendor visits asrequired;
- Other various project responsibilities asrequired. Qualifications(Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):
- Requires six (6) months to one (1) yearexperience (within the past two years);
- Associates Degree in Computer Aided Draftingand Design or an equivalent certificate program will be considered in lieu ofexperience provided the credential is recently attained (within the past twoyears);
- Vocational high school/certification may beconsidered;
- Must have working knowledge of
ASME, ANSI, APIRP 14C, API RP 14E, API
Spec 6A and OSHA standards;
- Must be familiar with AWS Welding Symbols andAISC Manual;
- Must have working knowledge of MS Office Suiteof products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook);
- Proficient with design software i.e. (AutoCAD)(Autodesk PLANT3D, Navisworks, and PDMS a plus but not required);
- Must have working knowledge of P&ID’s,General Arrangements, Piping Plans Sections and Details, Pipe Supports andIsometrics;
- Familiarity with project systems to includecivil, structural, mechanical, and electrical components to allowconsiderations of those aspects into piping design as required;
- Ability and availability to work occasionalovertime to include weekends as dictated by project requirements;
- Ability to interact with all levels of staff.

WorkingConditions:
- Work is primarily conducted in an officeenvironment (Private or Semi-Private office) but also requires occasionaltravel to off-site work locations.
- Field duties require outdoor work in a plantor offshore platform atmosphere;
- Interaction with other team members, as wellas supervisors and client personnel;
- Working offshore or in plant and/or shop areasaround production machinery with extreme noise levels;
- Must be able to wear safety equipment asrequired by the safety department for personal protection;
- May be at more than one job site in a day andmust be able to tolerate climate changes;
- May be required to travel out of town on aperiodic basis.
