We’re looking for a Product Design Technician with the technical skill and attention to detail to turn furniture concepts into production-ready drawings and accurate models. You’ll work closely with key stakeholders and develop an understanding of shop floor processes to ensure your work aligns with how things are actually built. In addition to supporting new designs, you’ll revise and streamline existing drawings to reflect changes, improve clarity, and support efficient manufacturing. This role also includes assisting with customer-specific requests to support sales, project planning, and installation. You’ll collaborate across departments to ensure our designs meet customer needs, internal standards, and real-world requirements. Key Responsibilities:

Create and revise 2D/3D CAD models: Assist in developing part and assembly drawings using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal standards.

Prepare fabrication and production documentation:

Generate cut sheets, dimensioned prints, and CNC-ready layouts for use in manufacturing and assembly.

Support new product development:

Participate in early-stage design discussions and help translate concepts into manufacturable solutions—balancing form, function, and cost.

Update legacy products and documentation:

Assist in revising existing drawings and documents based on engineering changes, production feedback, or cost improvements, while maintaining revision control.

Support prototyping and fit validation:

Participate in prototype builds and part evaluations to verify fit, tolerances, and assembly accuracy. Assist with BOM and ERP data setup (Global Shop Solutions ): Learn how to create and update item masters, part numbers, BOMs, and routings to ensure CAD and ERP systems stay aligned.

Collaborate with purchasing and vendors:

Provide drawing packages or technical specs to support material sourcing and vendor communication under the direction of the engineering team. Follow the company drawing and data standards: Maintain consistent file organization, naming conventions, and revision control to support traceability and cross-departmental communication.

Qualifications:

Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Product Design, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software Familiarity with manufacturing methods and shop floor processes Understanding of BOMs, routings, and ERP systems Strong communication skills and attention to detail Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines At ModuForm, some of the great benefits we provide are: Health, dental, and vision insurance Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA), FSA, and HSA options Life insurance and short/long-term disability 401(k) retirement plan Paid vacation and Paid holidays

Work Schedule:

Full-Time Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM-4:30 PM This role involves both office and shop floor work and may occasionally require lifting materials during prototyping.
