Drafter Job Description As a Drafter, you will be responsible for reading customer architectural and mechanical plans and using CAD software to create precise drawings for both customer and manufacturing processes. You will work closely with engineers and experienced staff, basing your drawings on their designs and sketches, while also ensuring compliance with customer requirements, quotations, and specifications. Responsibilities Read and understand customer architectural and mechanical plans. Utilize CAD software to create detailed drawings for customer and manufacturing processes. Base drawings on designs and sketches provided by engineers or more experienced staff. Interpret and apply customer requirements from quotations and specifications. Apply drafting fundamentals including orthographic views, standard dimensioning practices, and scaling using both English and metric units. Create drawings that check dimensions of parts, document materials to be used, and verify form, fit, and function of parts in assemblies. Follow direction and learn drafting standards. Develop a working knowledge of manufacturing processes, machines, and various building materials. Essential Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD and drafting techniques. Ability to read and interpret architectural and mechanical plans. Understanding of orthographic views, standard dimensioning practices, and scaling. Knowledge of English and metric units of measure. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in 2D AutoCAD and 2D Design. Experience with mechanical design with knowledge of dampers and louvers. Familiarity with sheet metal, Revit, and blueprint reading. Work Environment This position offers a hybrid work environment, with responsibilities both on-site and remotely
