Job Description
Sirius Staffing is seeking a Piping Designer for Pascagoula, MS. The Piping Designer is responsible for utilizing drafting techniques to prepare layouts, charts, graphs, maps, engineered designs, drawings, and diagrams based on technical specifications and instructions. This role requires attention to detail and adherence to company and industry standards.
Range:
$35-$40/hr, BOE (A higher rate may be considered for candidates with more experience/strong background)
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, core working hours
Requirements:
6+ years of experience as a Piping designer Completion of two years of college-level coursework equivalent to an AA degree in Industrial Technology or a related field, along with relevant design experience. Equivalent experience and training may also be considered.
Proficiency in working with drafting materials and CAD software.
ShipConstructor software experience is required.
Strong understanding of piping design principles and drafting techniques.
Basic knowledge of shipbuilding or industrial piping systems and manufacturing processes.
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to piping design.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Design detailed work related to piping systems and layouts.
Coordinate with other sections as needed to ensure design accuracy and integration.
Review and check drawings when necessary, which may require entering production areas.
Ensure compliance with CAD standards and company design guidelines.
Utilize company standards and common materials wherever possible.
Ensure all designs meet the requirements of applicable Regulatory Bodies and job specifications.
Follow company standard practices and procedures, including PRNs, ECPs, EARs, Budget Requests, and drawing check-out processes.
Coordinate and review vendor-supplied information for compatibility with designs.
Work collaboratively with other personnel as necessary.
