Mechanical Designer PSI-Polymer Systems, Inc. 1703 Pineview SE Street, Conover, NC 28613 PSI-Polymer Systems, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of polymer processing equipment, specializing in custom engineering and precision design. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Designer to join our team and contribute to innovative equipment design and production support. Duties and Responsibilities Use AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor to create 3D models and 2D mechanical drawings. Communicate with the Engineering Project Manager and/or customers to understand project scope and requirements. Prepare detailed design drawings and preliminary layouts from engineering notes and sketches. Revise designs based on feedback and engineering updates. Create and manage Bills of Materials (BOM) using Microsoft Excel. Ensure BOMs and drawing layouts are consistent and accurate across all assemblies. Handle multiple projects with changing priorities and deadlines. Travel occasionally to customer sites to take measurements and assess equipment. Perform quality checks before, during, and after manufacturing and assembly processes. Qualifications Solid understanding of engineering principles and mechanical design practices. Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software—AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor required. Ability to read, interpret, and create technical drawings with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T). Skilled in using precision measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, depth gauges, and surface gauges. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Experience working in a manufacturing or mechanical engineering environment is preferred.
