DAY TO DAY

: Contribute to the design, development, and documentation of mechanical and electrical systems, components, and assemblies. Performs design calculations for mechanical stress, thermal analysis, and strength of material. Confers with engineers or Engineering Manager to affirm design requirements. Check electro/mechanical drawings to ensure engineering information necessary in the manufacture of products and the specifying of product design requirements is effectively represented.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR

: Determine appropriate dimensions and tolerances to meet the design requirement Applying knowledge and skills in the use and application of existing design controls and standards to affirm design solution meets requirements Perform basic level design calculations related to mechanical and thermal stresses and strength of materials Conduct feasibility studies and design analyses to optimize performance and manufacturability. Use customer and feedback from design reviews to upgrade, improve or repair the company product Provide support, when needed, during the manufacturing and installation process, ensuring that the product is assembled properly and according to design specifications Participate in and/or lead design and documentation reviews Create 3D models, electro/mechanical sketches, layouts and drawings which communicate and specify engineering requirements for the manufacture of new products by: producing developmental sketches, layouts, drawings, and assemblies as required and in accordance with ASME standard drawing practices; and revising drawings in process, or on released drawings, conforming to design or documentation changes as instructed or as required on Engineering Change Orders; and recognizing possible documentation ambiguities and conferring with the Engineer or Engineering Manager for direction; and reviewing finished work to assure clarity, accuracy and conformance to applicable standards and graphics practices Create and store design records following company procedure (Product Center), regulations and standards Submit drawings via company process (Product Center) for review and approval May be required to check electro/mechanical drawings generated by other engineers to ensure engineering information necessary in the manufacture of products and the specifying of product design requirements is effectively represented by: applying knowledge and skills in the use and application of existing drafting conventions and standards to assure accurate and complete product output. recognizing possible documentation ambiguities and conferring with the Engineer or Engineering Manager for direction; and reviewing finished work to assure clarity, accuracy and conformance to applicable standards and graphics practices. Keeps abreast of, and effectively utilize improved and updated manuals, drafting techniques, standard practices, engineering procedures, manufacturing capabilities and other related factors which could benefit design and drafting results. Ensures all drawings required to complete an assembly are included and the parts lists are complete and correct. Develops technical competence and skills through job performance and formal training. Reports status of tasks regularly to Engineering Manager via Teams Planner or other company process.

YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE

: Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Drafting Technology or equivalent with two (2) to five (5) years of experience in engineering role or High School graduate or equivalent with eight (8) to ten (10) years of experience in an acceptable related field of work. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills Excellent problem-solving skills Deep IT and CAD knowledge Strong computer and mathematical skills Experience designing industry-specific products Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change Able to work in a team environment Self-motivated attitude and the ability to use initiative Skill in applying fundamentals of design, strength of material formulae, applied geometry, trigonometric functions and technical mathematics as applied to the electro/mechanical drafting function. Thorough knowledge of design drafting theory, techniques and practices used in the design drafting field. Advanced knowledge of Engineering Standards, specifications, design controls and procedures, and drafting practices used by CPI. Working (advanced preferred) knowledge of SolidWorks (modeling, drawing, file management techniques, parametric associations. Must be a U.S. Citizen
