Role:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Designer to join our Power Electronics team, focusing on the design and development of Variable Speed Drives . This role is ideal for a design/drafter-level professional with a strong background in CAD modeling, sheet metal design, and engineering documentation. You’ll work closely with senior staff and engineers to support product development, engineering changes, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

Create and modify 3D models and 2D drawings using Creo and AutoCAD . Interpret and implement mark-ups and engineering changes. Collaborate with engineers to understand design intent and ensure accuracy in models and assemblies. Manage and update Bills of Material (BOMs) using SAP and Windchill . Understand the impact of part changes on assemblies and related components. Work with sheet metal enclosures , mechanical assemblies , and wiring diagrams/schematics . Utilize Family Tables and MRP systems to mine and manage product data. Participate in cross-functional team meetings and contribute to design reviews. Demonstrate initiative by proactively seeking information and clarifications from engineers.

Required Qualifications:

Recent, relevant experience as an individual contributor in mechanical design/drafting. Proficiency in Creo and/or AutoCAD (strong in one, with ability to learn the other quickly). Familiarity with engineering change processes and documentation standards. Experience with Windchill and/or SAP , and BOM management. Strong understanding of sheet metal design , assemblies , and mechanical drafting standards . Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Comfortable working in a hybrid environment and adapting to office procedures.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with AutoCAD Electrical (not required – can be learned on the job). Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics . Desire to grow into roles beyond drafting, such as Designer , Team Lead , or Project Coordinator . Entry-level engineering background with CAD experience and a passion for learning the product from the ground up. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (ME) . Applies engineering principles to enhance design work and improve product outcomes. Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) . Some background in electronics , enabling better collaboration with cross-functional teams.

$65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
