Mechanical Design Engineer Job Description We are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to concept development, design, fabrication, and prototyping of hardware. The role involves facilitating functionality between the engineering team and the production/prototyping facility, interacting with multiple stakeholders including government customers, and employing a common-sense approach to hardware engineering with a passion for building, making, and testing technologies. Responsibilities Develop concepts and designs for prototype hardware. Facilitate functionality between engineering team and production/prototyping facility. Interact effectively with multiple stakeholders, including government customers. Generate Technical Data Packages (TDP). Interpret results from FEA analysis tools to inform design. Essential Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or similar STEM discipline. At least 5 years of relevant experience in prototype hardware design and development. Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD software. Familiarity with AS9100 process. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in an AS9100 environment. Experience with FEA analysis tools. Experience with CNC machines. Experience in aerospace industry. Work Environment This role is based onsite at a test facility in Hollywood, AL.
