Job Description

Overview:

An advanced engineering team working on cutting-edge hypersonic programs for the Department of Defense and NASA is seeking an Aerothermal Analysis Lead . This position offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in national defense and space exploration by supporting high-speed platforms and thermal protection technologies. We are looking for a motivated technical leader with deep expertise in hypersonics analysis to lead and manage the team.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead a multidisciplinary team focused on fluid, thermal, and fluid-structure interaction analyses. Oversee modeling and simulation of hypersonic vehicles and reentry systems using CFD, FEA, and reduced-order tools. Collaborate with test engineers to support design and analysis for flight and ground test environments, including arc jet facilities. Evaluate material performance under extreme thermal and flow conditions. Guide the development of modeling capabilities such as ablation and decomposition models. Mentor and manage analysis team members, including conducting performance reviews. Communicate technical findings clearly and effectively across teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance Master’s or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field 5+ years of experience in thermal/aerothermal analysis of supersonic or hypersonic systems Experience in thermal protection system (TPS) modeling and hypersonic ground testing Proven leadership in technical teams and complex engineering environments

Preferred Qualifications:

Active DoD Secret clearance 8+ years of relevant experience in high-speed vehicle analysis and TPS modeling Experience with ablation, decomposition, or thermal-chemical material models TO BE CONSIDERED… Apply directly to this job posting.
