Position Description:

As a

• test engineer
• you will support the testing of space flight and non-space flight hardware for the NASA Environmental Test branch at Marshall Space Flight Center.

The test engineer will:

• Support thermal testing in the environmental test vacuum chambers.
• Support aerodynamic testing in wind tunnel.
• Support fluid dynamics test operations.
• Review test requirements and develop test plans.
• Design/review test facility drawings.
• Configuration control and documentation.
• Review test data.

Job Duties will include:

• Coordination with NASA project level customers across organizations to ensure mission success.
• Work with a diverse team of civil servants and contractors to design, develop, setup, and perform wind tunnel and fluid dynamic.
• Participate in safety meetings, task meetings, design reviews, and test readiness reviews as requested to support ASED and customer requirements.
• Develop and deliver reports and presentations as requested to support ASED and customer requirements via Power Point and other various software packages.
• Perform safety and certification training to support ASED and customer requirements.
• Familiarity with OSHA and ANSI standards.
• Minimum travel required. Basic Qualifications Prefer a BS degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering from an ABET accredited institution with 0-5 years of applicable experience. The ideal candidate will be an engineer with the following skills:
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as PowerPoint, Excel and Word are required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
• Experience with thermal-vac testing is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCad, MicroStation, or similar is a plus.
• Experience with wind tunnels, aerodynamics, and Schlieren imaging are a plus.
• Experience with applied fluid dynamics system analysis is a plus.
• Knowledge of ASME Power Piping and Boiler codes are a plus.
